Antti Sarpila Swing Band live at On The Rocks, Helsinki
Antti Sarpila is one of the few internationally known Finnish jazz musicians and is especially known as an interpreter of Benny Goodman-style swing. Antti is a sought-after guest musician in jazz circles around the world and regularly performs as a soloist in small ensembles, big bands, brass bands and symphony orchestras.
Antti Sarpila Swing Band is made up of Finland's most skilled and respected jazz musicians. The band celebrated its 40th anniversary in the fall of 2022, has released more than 10 albums and performed at numerous festivals to the delight of dancers and jazz listeners alike.
Tuesday Night Hop is an event dedicated to swing music and dancing, where the club DJs play danceable swing music from the golden big band era adding flavors and twists according to their own preference. On live evenings held once a month a jazz band plays swinging danceable jazz standards between around 7:30 and 10:00 pm. During the bands’ intermissions the music will be provided by Tuesday Night Hop's DJs.
