Al Pitcher began his career in stand-up in London in 1999. The same year he went to the finals of humor competition So You Think You're Funny and repeated the feat two years later in both the BBC New Competition Act and the Daily Telegraph Open Mic Competition. Since then, he has performed on most comedy festivals in English-speaking countries and won several awards such as Best Show 2009 at the Leicester Comedy Festival, Director's Pick in 2009 at Newcastle Comedy Festival and the Peoples Choice Award 2009 by Time Out Sydney.
In 2007 and 2012 he was invited to the world's biggest humor festival, Just for Laughs in Montreal, along with some of the biggest name, like Eddie Izzard and Billy Connolly.
In 2010 Al Pitcher moved to Sweden and since then has quickly made a name for itself on the Swedish standup scene. In 2011 he was awarded the Award of Best male comedian and in,2012, he did a 105 date National tour of Sweden Coffee Tour, quickly followed by The Påtår (The refill ) Tour in 2013 and a sold out Nääämen it's Al Pitcher Tour in 2014/2015. His book Buried Elephants was released in 2012.
Al Pitcher has been seen in television shows such as Robins and Settman in place, where he had a permanent feature, and last winter Sweden's National Broadcaster SVT aired his 1 hour-long show Fy-fan Sweden !, a specially crafted tv show where the best of the three above tour performances were put together. The show can be seen on SVT Play.
In Autumn and winter in 2017, Al sold out shows from New York, London to most of Sweden .with the show Sweden Syndrome, It is his personal story and all about Al's love for his new homeland Sweden.
