| One of Canada's premier hip hop groups,
Swollen Members, will play their first ever Finnish show
at Kuudes Linja on March 23rd. Founded in 1999, the band consist of mc's Mad Child and Prevail and producer Rob The Viking. Over the years, Swollen Members have cooperated with the likes of La Coka Nostra, Talib Kweli, Nelly Furtado, Jurassic 5 and Dilated Peoples, released several successful albums and won four Juno's, Canadian Grammys, for the best rap release.
The release of Swollen Members' sixth album was a long, uphill process: Mad Child suffered from an extended drug dependence, their record label went belly up and the band fell foul of both the police and motorcycle gangs. "Armed to the Teeth" was finally released in October 2009, immediately hitting the most sold records' list at Helsinki-based hip hop record store Funkiest.
