Ruisrock, celebrated from the 3rd to the 5th of July in Turku, has added the sizzling Swedish glam rock star Ola Salo and the stylish Welsh-Greek pop icon Marina and the Diamonds to the festival program. New additions to the lineup of Finnish artists are Kingston Wall FreakOut!, Don Huonot, CMX, Pariisin Kevät, Hisser and Eva & Manu. Festival tickets, VIP and camping tickets are on sale in Tiketti.
The Swedish Ola Salo came to popularity as the fiery lead of the glam rock band The Ark. The artist, who has even been named as today’s Freddy Mercury, will release his solo debut album in May. Ruisrock festival will offer a stage for his first solo performance in Finland. Some foretaste of the upcoming album has been already provided in the Stockholm’s official Pride tune ”I Got You”, singles ”Go on Go on” and ”How I Kill” and a freshly released EP record.
Marina Lambrini Diamandis has released her new awaited album "Froot" this spring. The new Marina and the Diamond album also presents a renewed artist. Marina's debut album "The Family Jewels" was released in 2010 and it rose to the 5th place on the UK album chart. Released two years later, the album "Electra Heart" became number one on the on the UK and Ireland charts, and saw great success also elsewhere in Europe.
Kingston Wall original members Jukka Jylli and Sami Kuoppamäki in addition to a large group of friends will gather to Ruisrock to remember one of the most influential groups of Finnish progressive rock. Kingston Wall FreakOut! is a unique concert that will include Kingston Wall material from all three albums and jamming in the spirit of the legendary FreakOut! club.
