Lost In Music Festival releases 40 new artists

Showcase festival Lost In Music gathers more than 100 artists to perform at the key venues of Tampere, Finland from October 15 till October 18. The latest 40 released acts represent all pop music genres, ranging from metal punk to humorous rap.

Hailing from Haapavesi, a small town with a population of just above 7,000, Justimus proves that the internet does not care where you are from: the trio's Youtube channel has over 250,000 subscribers, and their tongue-in-cheek videos have been streamed more than 45 million times. Justimus released their debut album Wunderboy in May and will perform at Lost In Music on October 18.

The good people at Stupido Records & Booking celebrate their 25 active years at YO-talo on Thursday, October 16. The evening will showcase the label's punk and rock bands, featuring the garage punk quartet The Splits, the grungy Hopeajärvi and Nyrkkitappelu, and Finn-punk's new revivalists Katujen Äänet.

The weekend at YO-talo continues with a touch of indie rock. On Friday, October 17 we will dance the night away with the ever-energetic Stockers!, accompanied with the alternative indie band Lapko and the synth-electro group Zebra and Snake.

Famous for its underground punk gigs, Dog's Home near the railway station hosts a set of rowdy rock throughout the festival week. Among others, the audience gets to experience a tight show by London-based Desert Mountain Tribe on Thursday, October 16. The post rock quintet Mr. Peter Hayden, known for their hypnotic live performances, and Ghost of Jack Nance, a fresh lo-fi addition to the record label Soliti’s roster, will have their share of the spotlight as well.

One of the summer's most interesting new metal bands is Blind Channel from Oulu, northern Finland. The quintet defines their music as ”violent pop” and have already made a name for themselves by performing not only at big summer festivals in Finland, but at Wacken Open Air, the world's most prestigious metal music festival. The ruthless punk metal band RebelHead and emo rock group New Deadline will share the stage with Blind Channel at Dog's Home on Friday, October 17.

For those who like their music with a bit more beats, we offer the human beat box machine Felix Zenger. He will perform at the Tampere Hall on Friday, October 17. During the evening we also get to enjoy a duo performance by the soul phenomenon Tuomo Prättälä with the acknowledged roots rocker Markus Nordenstreng, and a show by percussion artist Teho Majamäki.
