Finland's largest showcase festival Lost In Music returns to Tampere October 15–18 2014. Held for the 8th time, the festival will feature more than 100 artists in 15 venues.
Internationally recognized acts will storm the stages on Thursday October 16. Softengine is best known for wonderfully representing Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen in May. They will perform alongside punk-pop group French Films, who have already been making waves by touring actively around Europe.
To balance out the rocking vibes, Aino Venna and her band will enchant the audience with their soulful and chanson-inspired songs. The charming duo Eva & Manu recently released the single 'Cinnamon Hearts' from their upcoming album.
A fine array of Finnish indie rock and pop echoes throughout the city on each festival evening. Damn Seagulls returned with a bang from a 5-year break in June and released their fourth album 'Let It Shine'. Big Wave Riders' rhythmic compositions mixed with electronics are insipired by the music they listened to as teenagers.
A few foreign artists will join the mix as well. Hailing from Denmark, Get Your Gun relies on noisey post-punk accompanied by raspy vocals, whereas Sekuoia creates dreamy and soothing soundscapes. Other international acts include Swedish indie-folk group Vita Bergen, Lithuania's best kept rock secret Colours of Bubbles, and energetic Finnish-Dutch group Town of Saints.
